The Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership (EICAP) delivers a wide diversity of services to the Salmon region.  The best way to learn how EICAP helps your community is at the EICAP website.

EICAP needs volunteers to help pack food boxes.  This is one way you could really help make a direct difference in peoples' lives.  Since the recession started, demand for food has jumped 40-50%.

EICAP distributes about 200 boxes filled with much-needed nourishing food each week.  These boxes aren't "self-packing."  Each box must be carefully packed with an appealing variety of food.  Helping pack the food boxes for weekly distribution would be a very rewarding volunteer task.

Whether you have one or two hours a week or maybe even a day a week available, the EICAP Staff would be delighted to enjoy the benefit of your volunteer service.  This is a volunteer opportunity that's very flexible in nature.  After meeting with Staff and going over the details of the duties, you could arrange to serve at a time that could be very convenient for your schedule.  Wednesday is the only weekday that's not available to volunteer. The Staff is very good to work with and also sensitive to the needs of volunteers.

Karla Mulkey shows some of the food in stock at EICAP's Salmon Pantry.  Karla is the Community Services Coordinator for the EICAP Salmon Office. Karla would love to talk with you about your potential service on behalf of EICAP Salmon food distribution efforts. Give her a call!

You could bring a friend to help. However, space available is really suitable for two people. It gets crowded with more than two people packing at a time.

This would be a great volunteer service to do with your friends or perhaps members of your family.  There is lifting involved so this volunteer task isn't for everyone.  Cases of canned goods are heavy. The finished packed boxes are heavy, too!
